Bold colour and exceptionally brilliant paste gems are the focal point of these striking Art Deco solitaire earrings. By the 1920s the fashioning of coloured paste gemstones from a special composition of leaded glass had really hit its peak. The from the velvety blues of Ceylon and Kashmir sapphires to pigeon blood rubies and, like these, Colombian emeralds, the colours, fire, and brilliance of natural gemstones were simulated to virtual perfection.
