Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1882 and initially specialized in producing pocket watches. The brand boasts a long and impressive history of breakthroughs in design and technology, and while probably best known for their military associations and fantastic field watches, they've put out some really remarkable—and sometimes incredibly unique—outliers as well.

Case in point, this extremely '70s gold-plated piece. The chunky, tonneau case, orange rehaut, and quirky day-date setup all come together perfectly to offer a very unique—and uniquely affordable—time capsule. 

CASE & BRACELET 

The gold-plated tonneau-style case has been gently polished and shows almost no signs of use. It comes with its original Hamilton-signed crown. The steel case back is very clean, featuring highly legible engraving and exposed screws that secure the case back down. The watch is supplied with its original gold-plated Hamilton bracelet.

DIAL & HANDS

The radial champagne dial is immaculate, featuring long black hour markers and minute tics. The rehaut is an orange color that adds a unique look to the whole thing. The day-date setup is unique, with the day window stacked vertically atop the horizontal date. The tritium lume plots on the dial and within the hands have achieved a handsome matching creamy patina, under U.V. light inspection the dial and hands exhibit no degradation.
