ZENITH – “The foundation, in 1860, Georges-Favre Jacot envisions the future of watchmaking with ZENITH, a new vertical approach to Swiss watchmaking.”
Today, Zenith is still a Swiss luxury watchmaker with 150 of tradition and recognition in the horological world. Favre Jacot invented the concept of “in house movement”, believing they only through control of the entire watchmaking process could the highest quality be achieved.
Historically well known for making top-quality, prize-winning movements, Zenith is one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers.

Grand Prix Paris 1900
Openface Pocket Watch
Swiss Made
This is a very special timepiece! It is a vintage Zenith Grand Prix Paris 1900 pocket watch dated from 1913.
At the 1900 Paris World's Fair, George Farve-Jacot & Co. was awarded the Grand Prix for their "Zenith" movement, so named because Farve-Jacot believed it represented the best of precision timekeeping. In 1911, the company was renamed after the prized movement.
It is an open-face, manual-wind watch with an original Zenith mechanical movement, 15 rubis, sub-second hand and Swiss made.
Original white ceramic dial features bold, easy-to-read black Arabic numerals, black outer minute divisions, sub-second at 6 o'clock position. All three hands are blued steel.
Cased in a beautiful 52.2mm two-tone (silver and rose-gold tone) round case, all in .800 silver. Double hinged back. The inner caseback (dust cover) reads "Grand Prix Paris 1900". This engraving refers to the fact that Zenith received a gold medal for its technological advancements at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition (Paris World Fair), and therefore, the dust covers of special pocket watch models, and this pocket watch, were signed Grand Prix Paris 1900 as a commemoration to their achievement.
This is a very collectible pocket watch, it is still in good condition! Runs very well and keep great time!
*The pocket watch holder is not included with the purchase of this pocket watch.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
